Gosh I really loved this. I particularly felt the idea of using cultural belonging as a cloak - to take a breather from the white world. And the thought of using language as a badge of entry, into a deeper realm of acceptance and approval-either from our elders or from those we interact with across public spaces in our adopted hometowns. Sometimes sharing customs can feel like silent gift giving, a shared experience. This piece felt very much like that.
